BUTTERS THE BOXER FUND

Organized by United Rescues of Ky, Inc. (UR_KY)

THANK YOU ALL!!!!
Butters is with his foster home now, and is doing very well. Eating, and safe in the hands of two dog lovers who happen to be nurses, so his post operative care will be great! As you can see, you all made it possible for Butters to have the best vet care, and we even raised enough that he got a special mattress (as he is so thin and delicate) and we are able to afford his specialized food. Butters future will be bright and beautiful because of YOU! Licks and kisses from Butters, and hugs from those of us who have worked to help him. Thank you. Thank you all.
BUTTERS' UPDATE
Butters is doing much better. Today, 12/11, he has gained 1.2 lbs and is eating small amounts every few hours. The vets are pleased with his progress, and a wonderful foster home has been found for him, when he is able to leave the hospital.

Also, a correction. The original entry below says he was found in a back yard by a neighbor. Turns out that intial info was inaccurate. He was found in a garage, and a client of the business got the owner to give him up so he could receive care. The rest is accurate; the vets said that Butters could not have lived through that day that he was brought in due to the intestinal intussception and his other issues. Thank you all so much who have donated, sent good thoughts and prayers, and made offers for his care.

BUTTERS' MEDICAL FUND
Butters was found in a back yard in Louisville, KY. At 8 months old, and a PB Boxer, he should have weighed 45 lbs...he weighs 20-25. He was out in this cold (frigid here right now) and he was dying. Butters was so starved that he had been eating gravel, wood, anything he could find to stay alive. Butters' neighbor got him and got him to Bev Watson in Louisville who is spearheading getting Butters well. Besides starvation, exposure, parasites and more, he has intestinal interception. What this meant is that Butters was dying this morning (12/8). He had emergency surgery to repair his intestines at 8 a.m. Monday 12/8. The surgery will cost approximately $1,500. That's where this 'chip in' comes in. The emergency vet hospital wouldn't start surgery until payment was assured, so a URKY member gave a charge card as deposit, and then URKY agreed to be the entity collecting money to pay Butters' surgery. That way donations are tax deductible, and URKY will be responsible to get the funds to the vet. Butters' will need a foster or rescue when he gets to leave the hospital. Contact Bev W @Luvmydogs511@aol.com if you can help with that, or contact Bev M at petus12@att.net for info, and please, please, help us pay for Butters' surgery. Thank you. (He came into the hospital called Harley; the vets say he is so sweet, they renamed him Butters so he won't have a name associated with his old life. Louisville Metro has been contacted to investigate Butters' former owners for cruelty. Pictures will be us soon.)
